Hello! Here’s a little bit about me.
In my 35+ years working as an Advertising Creative I’ve been fortunate to work with the top talent in the industry, in a number of major markets on a diverse range of global and regional brands. My full time and freelance work in Canada and the U.S. covers every product category and every award show giving me a wealth of experience in finding creative solutions, bringing ideas to life and exceeding result expectations for my clients.
My goal has always been and still is to create world-class work. I went freelance in 2009 and take contracts as an Art Director, Writer, Creative Director and Consultant. I can approach a creative problem from all sides and have acquired a full toolbox to help me and the creative teams I lead find compelling, insightful and original creative solutions. I have the experience to know what an idea or execution needs to be successful.
My work has exceeded business goals and won hundreds of Canadian and International creative and effectiveness awards including One Show pencils, CA’s, Andy’s, Cassies and Cannes Gold Lions. I was honoured by Strategy Magazine as the 7th most awarded Art Director in Canada for the decade between 2000 and 2010. I judged Cannes Lions in 2013 and The Canadian Marketing Awards in 2020. I’ve taught advertising and design at OCAD and been a guest teacher at the Miami Ad School and the Young Guns in Australia.
I’ve been based in Tofino for the past 16 years, where I am an active surfer, outdoor enthusiast, and nature-based visual artist. My photo-based art practice is grounded in direct observation of Tofino’s natural environment and rhythms, translating these experiences into contemporary visual work that offers a fresh perspective on place and nature.
Reach out if you need help. I love bringing ideas to life and exceeding result expectations for my clients, whether it be for global brands with budgets in the millions or local campaigns with budgets in the hundreds.
